Daikin Applied is seeking a talented Sr UX Researcher. The Sr UX Researcher will work with a passion for connecting with users, outstanding attention to detail, and deep expertise using data to understand customer behavior. You will lead user research efforts, in collaboration with UX Designers and Product Managers, to uncover actionable insights, create journey maps, test concepts with real people, and delve into analytics to measure the impact of our digital experiences.
As a Senior UX Researcher, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping product direction by ensuring the voice of the customer is deeply embedded in every decision we make. Your work will directly influence how we define, design, and improve Daikin Applied’s digital products and services, driving measurable improvements to the user experience through evidence-based research. You will help align stakeholders around user needs, support continuous discovery, and bring clarity and focus to complex product challenges. Location: Plymouth, MN - Hybrid
What You Will Do
- Help establish the research strategy and planning by defining research goals, success metrics, and comprehensive research plans
- Lead the Daikin Applied customer discovery process, using a wide range of studies, e.g, interviews, surveys, usability testing
- Create comprehensive customer journey maps, user personae and user flows
- Work closely with product managers, UX designers, software engineers, and business stakeholders to create the most accurate picture of our customers’ needs
- Lead with impact and guide decision-making through a customer-focused approach
- Partner closely with UX Designers to lead usability testing sessions and iterate on prototypes and product concepts
- Analyze, synthesize, and integrate insights gathered from user research studies to uncover patterns, identify user needs and pain points, then translate them into clear, actionable recommendations that inform design decisions and enhance the overall user experience
- Leverage tools like Figma, Lyssna, Dovetail, or analytics platforms to gather and manage user insights
- Establish and maintain ongoing feedback loops with users
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in human-centered design, psychology, or a related field
- Lead discovery activities and user testing
- Ability to work independently
- Deep expertise in both generative (exploratory) and evaluative (usability) research methods
- Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, and storytelling skills
- Expertise in using research tools and methods
- Strong written and verbal command of the English language
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in human-centered design, psychology, or a related field
- Lead discovery activities and user testing
