We are seeking a detail-oriented Report Writer to join our team in supporting data-driven decision-making across the institution. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience working with Technolutions Slate or similar CRM systems used in higher education (e.g., Salesforce, Ellucian), particularly in the context of advancement. The Report Writer will assist in developing, maintaining, and distributing reports and dashboards to support fundraising efforts, alumni and donor engagement, and other institutional priorities. This position offers the opportunity to build a strong foundation in data analytics within a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Compensation

$52,500 - $57,500/ Annually

Major Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards within Slate to support operational and strategic needs.

Collaborate with stakeholders in Advancement, the Career and Alumni Network, Athletics, and other campus partners to gather requirements and translate them into report specifications.

Monitor and troubleshoot data integrity issues and assist in data cleaning and validation processes.

Assist with data extractions and uploads, often using Excel, SQL, or other query tools.

Document reporting processes, data definitions, and technical specifications

Participate in training sessions and team meetings, and stay current with Slate CRM updates and best practices.

Required Knowledge And Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Data Analytics, Information Systems, Higher Education, Business Analytics, or similar)
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience working in Technolutions Slate or another higher ed CRM (internship, student worker, or prior job role)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SQL, report builders, or business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • A commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and data confidentiality
  • Ability to collaborate with campus partners

Other Qualifications

  • Experience with Slate Report Builder, Queries, and Deliver
  • Understanding of advancement and alumni relations in higher education
