About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of University Libraries to lead and manage all library operations in alignment with the institution's goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget, planning, personnel, and the coordination of building activities and learning spaces. This role requires a commitment to the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity, as well as the ability to innovate, collaborate, and continuously improve library services. The Executive Director will also oversee the administrative services of the library, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and ensure the delivery of services that support the academic and information needs of the community.
Applicants must have a Master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program, with at least five years' experience in an academic library or a comparable setting. Essential qualifications include experience in staff and budget management, cross-campus collaboration, and project management. Proficiency in library management systems, course management systems, and office technologies is desired. The role involves promoting information literacy, leading a team-based culture, and engaging in strategic planning for the library. The Executive Director will also be involved in fundraising activities, including identifying donors and relevant grants, and will serve on the Board of Directors of the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana.
