Department of Corrections - Professional Librarian Manager

The Librarian Manager oversees the operation of NCF and LMF libraries, supervising two staff members, inmate library users, and workers. The role requires professional skills and judgment to ensure the library meets department and library standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Possession of a master's degree in library science.
  • Experience: Three years of professional librarian services experience, including one year at the Librarian P11 level.

The Department may screen out applicants convicted of a felony under Public Act 191 of 2017. Applicants with misdemeanor or felony convictions are ineligible until satisfactory completion of sentences, including parole or probation.

New hires and returning employees after more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET), which includes 40 or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on job level, plus additional online training.
