We are seeking a
Director of Communications & Marketing
at the
Institute for Policy Solutions (IPS) . The role involves planning, designing, implementing, and managing communications, marketing, earned media, owned media, and paid media strategies to promote division initiatives. The Director will shape and advance the communication strategy, message, and brand across various levels, including local, state, national, and global platforms. Collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and media departments is essential to ensure a coherent dissemination of materials.

The Director will oversee accurate representation across media platforms, manage the budget, and approve media-related projects. Specific Duties & Responsibilities Providing vision, leadership, and counsel for the division's communications, including overseeing an integrated communications plan. Developing and implementing stakeholder communication strategies to engage funders, school leadership, industry partners, and policymakers. Identifying strategic communication opportunities and developing benchmarks to evaluate effectiveness. Managing visibility, branding, and promotion through various media channels, including online, print, radio, and TV. Creating and overseeing original content across multiple platforms and channels. Advising senior leadership, faculty, and staff on communication and marketing strategies. Formulating media relations strategies at local, state, and national levels, including social media. Establishing communication policies and procedures, and managing research to inform strategies. Evaluating communication efforts and implementing improvements. Building relationships with media outlets nationally and internationally. Collaborating with development staff on fundraising materials. Managing staff, department budget, and external contracts. Performing other related duties as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. Ten years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in journalism. Technical Skills and Proficiency Branding, Campaign Management, Communications Planning, Copywriting, Content Management, Editing, Email Marketing, Media Monitoring, Public Speaking, SEO, Stakeholder Engagement, Workflow Management, Writing - All at an advanced level.
