Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (either in a relevant technical subject or English, journalism, technical communication, etc.)
- Industry experience as an effective technical writer.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
- Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience working with engineering to document an API, with an eye for optimizing how a developer would interact with the documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience with REST APIs and Open API specifications (Swagger).
- Experience with the docs-as-code approach to documentation. We work in markdown and git.
- The ability to read and understand simple code examples or some background knowledge about web programming. We’re not looking for a full-time programmer, but our target audience are software developers so an understanding of how APIs and SDKs are used by developers will be useful.
- The aptitude to try out web applications and APIs while documenting them so you can understand and then document how they really work, and to give feedback when things don’t work as they should or are difficult to use.
