The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects online Middle School Writing tutors with thousands of students across the U.S. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized instruction to online middle school writing students (1-on-1 or on-demand).
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Be matched with students best suited to your teaching style and expertise.
• Use the Live Learning Platform and Tutor Copilot features to enhance sessions and save prep time.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; we handle payments.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Middle School Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.

Pay, Schedule, and Logistics

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40/hour with continued sessions with the same student.
• Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Tutor remotely using our platform—no commuting required.
