We're seeking a creative and energetic Senior Content Strategist & Copywriter to lead the marketing communications efforts for SCS and its many diverse programs. Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing, this position plays a leadership role on the Marketing team, and is responsible for overseeing the School's content strategy across all channels, and serving as the voice and brand steward of SCS. This includes managing all website content, managing key messaging across all programs, and developing content for all paid media placements, including ad campaigns, emails, and digital, print, and audio ads. In addition, the position oversees the strategy for all paid social and native advertising efforts. The position manages two direct reportsthe Writer/Editor and the Social Media Marketing Manager. Responsibilities: Content Strategy Development & Management: Develop and execute a content strategy for the School and its programs, ensuring that all content is on brand, consistent in tone/voice, and aligns with overarching objectives of the Marketing team and School as a whole Develop and manage a content creation plan and workflow for all content (email, native, social, and web stories) Manage and update the SCS Editorial Style Guide and key messaging across all programs Oversee writing and editing assignments for the Writer/Editor Work closely with external agencies to traffic, monitor the performance of, and regularly optimize all paid and native content Stay abreast of the latest tools, trends, and best practices in the content strategy and marketing communications sectors Lead and manage paid social media and native advertising strategies Content Creation: Lead implementation of all marketing content development across emails, websites, paid native and social, text ads, audio ads, and all other channels, as appropriate Write and edit copy for SCS print and digital marketing efforts Manage the School's voice through consistent application of the SCS style and tone Develop content and creative direction for all paid social and native ads, including copy/messaging, imagery, targeting, and more Perform quality assurance on all SCS website, email, and native and social media content Develop key messaging and all website copy for all new programs that SCS launches Requirements: Bachelor's degree 5+ years of relevant experience developing content strategies, writing, and editing Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with superior attention to detail Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize projects and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to write engaging marketing and advertising copy Experience with paid social media and native advertising strategy and execution Ability to think creatively and tap into consumer mindsets to deliver value Adept at seeing the big picture as well as delving into granularities Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Experience implementing SEO best practices Fantastic sense of humor Preferred Qualifications: Fluency in AP style Prior experience managing others Benefits: Tuition benefits that include full coverage of a 4-year degree or equivalent, including master's degrees, certificates, and beyond 17 paid holidays, plus a week off between Christmas and New Year's 21 days PTO, with an additional day each year Medical, dental, and vision insurance Downtown D.C. campus at 640 Mass Ave NW accessible by all Metro lines Access to exclusive University-wide benefits, including guest speakers, trainings, events, discounts, facilities, and more Excellent work/life balance About Georgetown SCS: At SCS, we're committed to transforming the lives and careers of diverse learners through delivering world-class education. Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $54,616.00 - $100,493.33 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
