About the Role We’re looking for a talented and client-focused Interior Designer to join our design team. This role centers on residential design—from inspiring kitchens and bathrooms to elevated living spaces and outdoor environments. You’ll work closely with clients to craft personalized, functional, and beautifully curated interiors that reflect their lifestyle and Edward Martin’s design sensibility.
This is a hybrid role based in Tustin, CA, ideal for candidates who thrive at the intersection of creativity, client service, and project execution. You’ll collaborate with rendering specialists and support staff to ensure each design is delivered with clarity, professionalism, and care.

What You Will Do
Design residential interiors—including kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, and outdoor spaces—tailored to client vision, functional needs, and design goals.
Lead or participate in client consultations, gathering insights and aligning on scope, style, and expectations.
Translate client input into thoughtful, cohesive design concepts with mood boards, palettes, space plans, and finish selections.
Provide clear direction to in-house rendering teams to produce high-quality visuals that align with design intent.
Collaborate with Sales & Design Coordinators to support client communication, project scheduling, and milestone check-ins.
Source and specify finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and materials from Edward Martin’s curated offerings and external vendors.
Prepare professional design packages for client review, presentation, and revision.
Stay informed on current design trends, materials, and spatial best practices.
Manage multiple design projects at once while maintaining a high level of organization, creativity, and follow-through.
Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field from an accredited program.
3+ years of professional experience in residential interior design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating client-centered work.
Experience participating in client-facing design services, including consultations, presentations, and collaborative decision-making.
Strong understanding of residential construction fundamentals, including space planning, material selection, and coordination with renderings or technical drawings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey design concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with clients, internal teams, and rendering partners.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills; capable of managing multiple design projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar, and comfort working with rendering teams to ensure design intent is accurately represented.
Up-to-date knowledge of interior design trends, materials, and finishes, with a keen eye for style and spatial composition.
Ability to adapt to evolving client needs while maintaining a high standard of creativity and professionalism.
Background in luxury or high-end residential design environments.
Comfortable using Asana for project tracking and Figma for collaborative design reviews.
Familiar with 3ds Max and Corona Render, or experienced in coordinating with teams using those tools.
