The Director of Marketing Insights & Performance leads a cross-functional team responsible for turning data into strategy. This role oversees customer research, market intelligence, performance measurement, and planning, ensuring that every marketing investment is optimized for growth and aligned with business priorities. A strong storyteller and strategist, the Director translates complex data into clear, actionable insights that influence executives, marketing leaders, and cross-functional partners. Provides actionable insights that shape strategy, optimize performance, and drive data-informed decisions across all channels - strengthening Aaron’s ability to grow, compete, and connect with customers. The Details What You Need: 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing analytics, insights, or strategy, preferably in retail, consumer goods, or subscription-based industries. Proven expertise in customer insights, forecasting, attribution, and marketing performance optimization. Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, pacing, and vendor co-op fund management. Strong people leadership capabilities, with a track record of developing high-performing teams. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Analytics; MBA preferred. What You’ll Do: Lead research initiatives (surveys, focus groups, segmentation, personas, brand health tracking). Monitor competitive dynamics and market trends to identify risks and opportunities. Translate insights into campaign strategy, product positioning, and brand development. Strategic Planning & Forecasting

Own the annual marketing planning process, aligning objectives, strategies, calendars, and budgets across stakeholders. Lead forecasting and pacing processes, including vendor co-op fund tracking, scenario modeling, and budget variance analysis. Partner with finance to ensure strategic resource allocation and accountability. Performance & Optimization

Oversee development and maintenance of performance dashboards (CPA, ROAS, LTV, channel/funnel effectiveness). Manage marketing mix models, attribution frameworks, and experimentation pipelines to measure incrementality and ROI. Conduct spend analysis to drive investment decisions and promotional strategy. Champion marketing technology and CRM integration to strengthen campaign effectiveness and measurement. Build dashboards, testing pipelines, and analytics tools that improve real-time decision-making. Align marketing efforts with merchandising, eCommerce, and store operations to ensure a seamless customer experience. Measurement & Continuous Improvement

Lead post-mortem analysis for campaigns, consolidating executional KPIs and learnings. Drive continuous improvement by embedding insights into future activations. Collaborate with Marketing Operations and Analytics COE to improve processes, governance, and data literacy across the team. Manage and mentor direct reports, fostering expertise in analytics, research, and insight translation. Act as the primary marketing data storyteller, shaping executive presentations and strategic updates. Build strong partnerships with data engineering, creative, operations, and finance to ensure aligned strategies and measurement frameworks. Additional Requirements: Skilled in BI dashboards, CRM platforms, marketing mix/attribution modeling, and testing methodologies. Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to influence senior leadership with clarity. Success metrics include: Strong people leadership Increased ROI and improved effectiveness of marketing investments. Stronger customer segmentation, targeting, and brand health outcomes. Seamless alignment of marketing strategy with finance, merchandising, and operations. Timely delivery of insights and plans that directly influence executive decision-making.
