Clearance Requirement:

Position Overview:
One of our Department of State contracts is seeking an
Intermediate Communications and Engagement Specialist . If you are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven and collaborative organization, and you bring expertise in communications, process improvement, and brand development, we invite you to apply. In this role, you will partner with innovative technology leaders and work alongside a highly skilled team of creative professionals dedicated to crafting, designing, and delivering mission-critical communications that inform, inspire, and drive measurable impact.
Requirements
Serve in an advisory role, managing basic office tasks and delivering brand communications to the Office Director in coordination with the Internal Communications and External Engagement Teams Advise and collaborate with directorate-level leadership to proactively plan, draft, and prepare formal and informal communications, including memos in accordance with Department guidelines Develop technical program communication plans and strategies Identify opportunities to streamline formal and informal technical and mission communications Support the continuous improvement of communication task management and reporting processes Draft and edit formal communications Facilitate clearance process on internal communications Support the management and clearance process of congressional correspondence and Department-level tasks Proactively support and collaborate with External Engagement and Front Offices to coordinate all outreach and engagement opportunities for senior leaders within the Directorate(s) Support External Engagement’s media and social media operations Draft talking points, scenario documents and run of show for directorate leadership engagements and in coordination with External Engagement Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, which may include supporting special projects, assisting with emerging priorities, and providing cross-functional support to ensure organizational objectives are met
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected 3 years’ experience in public affairs work, with Department of State (DOS) experience preferred but not required Communicate effectively across multiple audiences Strong proficiency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation Ability to transform technical information into communications consumed by non-technical audiences Ability to work independently and within a team environment Expert-level Microsoft Office Suite skills Multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities Comfortable communicating at all levels of authority within an organization Demonstrates resilience and professionalism in high-pressure situations
