ABC13, Houston’s top-rated news channel, is looking for an experienced manager of a portion of our 13 hours of live daily news. This role will encompass all of our digital and linear endpoints and the right candidate will have experience managing teams across that spectrum. The right candidate has a high attention to detail, understanding the nuances of every element we stream or broadcast and has a high technical skill to manage and regularly operate our newsroom production system, alongside our producer/anchors but also has been in a control room, producing and managing newscasts recently. Responsible for linear newscasts, production, execution and news judgement for what goes into newscasts. Training for those who produce linear or streaming newscasts with limited resources Basic Qualifications Must have 5 years prior experience Top 10 market experience in day-to-day operations, production and leadership of local news streaming products. Making quick, strategic decisions is a must, along with close collaboration with the other newsroom and station leaders. Having a strong, thoughtful but compassionate voice when making decisions with our team is a requirement.
