Overview
Open Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor - Multimedia Journalism at Morgan State University. The Department of Multimedia Journalism in the School of Global Journalism & Communication invites applications for a tenured/tenure track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor to teach multimedia journalism with an emphasis on interactive, visual and interdisciplinary media.
Responsibilities
- Teach multimedia journalism courses including core writing, research and reporting.
- Mentor students, participate in field assignments, and create opportunities for students to engage with industry experts and subject matter specialists.
- Collaborate with faculty from other disciplines across campus and with external organizations and universities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
- Knowledge of and proficiency with software programs appropriate to creating multimedia journalistic content.
- Ability to design and deliver online content (will be a distinct advantage).
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Journalism or a closely related communication field from an accredited college or university. Significant professional experience strongly encouraged.
- A Bachelor’s Degree with extensive journalism experience will also be considered in lieu of a Master’s Degree.
