Open Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor - Multimedia Journalism at Morgan State University. The Department of Multimedia Journalism in the School of Global Journalism & Communication invites applications for a tenured/tenure track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor to teach multimedia journalism with an emphasis on interactive, visual and interdisciplinary media. Responsibilities
Teach multimedia journalism courses including core writing, research and reporting. Mentor students, participate in field assignments, and create opportunities for students to engage with industry experts and subject matter specialists. Collaborate with faculty from other disciplines across campus and with external organizations and universities. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
Knowledge of and proficiency with software programs appropriate to creating multimedia journalistic content. Ability to design and deliver online content (will be a distinct advantage). Required Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Journalism or a closely related communication field from an accredited college or university. Significant professional experience strongly encouraged. A Bachelor’s Degree with extensive journalism experience will also be considered in lieu of a Master’s Degree. Other Preferences for Consideration
