The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students nationwide with online AP English Literature and Composition tutors. As a tutor on the platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—all from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests whenever you’re available (Instant Tutoring).
• Deliver personalized instruction and adapt to students’ learning styles.
• Tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
• Get matched with students best suited to your teaching style and expertise.
• Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time support, lesson generation, and engagement features.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; the platform handles payments and logistics.

Compensation and Logistics

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential to reach up to $40/hour for ongoing sessions with the same student.
• Get paid up to twice per week for sessions conducted and invoiced.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.

What We Look For In a Tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.
