Title: SAP Technical Writers – S/4HANA Project Support

Base pay range: $40.00/hr - $75.00/hr

Scope of Work

ASICSoft is seeking two (2) leased employee resources to support the S/4HANA implementation project on a time and materials basis.

These individuals will serve as integral members of the project team and may be engaged full-time or part-time as required. They will function similarly to internal staff under the leased employee model.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with project stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand current business processes.
  • Develop detailed business process documentation and process flow mappings to support S/4HANA system design and configuration.
  • Utilize mapping software (e.g., Visio) to create visual representations of each process.
  • Ensure that process maps include key steps, decision points, roles, and inputs/outputs.
  • Document and route all processes listed in process inventory documents for review and approval.
  • Work directly with project team, receiving directions and assignments from staff.
  • Track work hours and tasks on a time-and-materials basis, providing flexibility to meet project demands.
  • Comply with policies and procedures, including confidentiality and professional conduct consistent with workforce standards.

This engagement model ensures closer integration with project team and tighter control over deliverables, compared to traditional professional services contractors.

Mandatory Requirements

  1. 2.1 Minimum of 2 Years as a Technical Writer
    • At least two years of professional technical writing experience, preferably in IT or business environments.
    • Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Experience creating business process manuals, user guides, training materials, and technical specifications.
    • Strong editing, organizational, and project management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple documentation projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  2. 2.2 Experience in at Least One SAP Project
    • Prior experience documenting business processes within at least one SAP project (implementation or support).
    • Familiarity with SAP environments, modules, and terminology.
    • Ability to translate complex SAP technical concepts into user-friendly language.
    • Preferred: experience with tools commonly used for process mapping and SAP documentation.

Technical Requirements

  • Knowledge of SAP modules relevant to the ECC environment.
  • Understanding of business operations and workflows within utilities or similar organizations.
  • Proven ability to map and analyze complex business processes.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with process mapping software and document management systems.
  • Skilled in screenshot and image editing tools to enhance documentation clarity.
  • Ability to translate technical jargon into business-friendly terms.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.

Desirable Qualifications

4.1 Background in SAP

  • Hands-on SAP experience with system architecture, module functionalities, and integration points.
  • Familiarity with SAP ERP systems, enabling effective communication with technical teams.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional SAP projects and user adoption efforts.

4.2 SAP Certifications

  • SAP certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Relevant certifications include SAP Certified Application Associate in modules such as Finance, Supply Chain, or S/4HANA Business Process Integration.
  • Certifications demonstrate formal SAP knowledge, adherence to best practices, and the ability to deliver precise and effective documentation.

Assumptions

  • Contractors must have reliable internet and work exclusively within the United States.
  • Contractors must be available for meetings generally scheduled between 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time (flexibility required).
  • Work will primarily be conducted in a hybrid capacity, with in-office attendance as determined by project needs.
