Executive Producer, Streaming

ABC13, Houston’s top-rated news channel, is looking for an experienced manager for a portion of our 13 hours of live daily news. This role will encompass all of our digital and linear endpoints, and the right candidate will have experience managing teams across that spectrum. We are a high-performance culture that thrives on new and exciting challenges. We study ratings, research, and intuition to develop and regularly update our strategies for each platform we serve. We pivot quickly depending on circumstances, and we expect our team to respond promptly to change and audience needs, which are rapidly shifting. Whether it's for breaking weather or traffic, big breaking news, or investigative work, we produce 13 live hours of news daily, focusing on hard-hitting information with minimal fluff. The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, understands the nuances of every element we stream or broadcast, and possesses strong technical skills to manage and operate our newsroom production system. They should have recent experience in a control room, producing and managing newscasts. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations, production, and leadership of streaming products and live events. Oversee linear newscasts, including production, execution, and news judgment. Train producers for linear and streaming newscasts with limited resources. Basic Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in a Top 10 market, managing daily operations, production, and leadership of local news streaming products. Ability to make quick, strategic decisions and collaborate closely with other newsroom and station leaders. A strong, thoughtful, and compassionate communication style when making decisions with the team.
