Multimedia Content Strategist

for AARP Studios is responsible for aligning video content with AARP's overall communications strategy and social impact objectives. This role combines strategic planning, multimedia production, and digital engagement to ensure the delivery of high-quality, targeted content across various digital platforms. The strategist will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, marketers, content creators, and cross-functional teams to lead content production and optimization efforts, ensuring that all work aligns with key messaging priorities. Additionally, the position involves managing partnerships within AARP to enhance the reach and impact of the content. The role also includes business integration responsibilities, such as implementing departmental initiatives, streamlining processes, identifying technological tools, and ensuring the ongoing quality and performance of programs.

Responsibilities

Works closely with stakeholders to provide recommendations on printing, print, and/or video executions for various projects. Manages pre-production, production, and post-production of assigned print and/or video projects. Oversees production timelines with both creative team, stakeholders, and vendors, including drop dates and in-home dates. Manages the day-to-day production process for digital and other content platforms. Implements checks and balances to ensure that digital production is seamless and efficient, and the team adheres to publishing and digital best practices that enhance user experience. Oversees, guides and coordinates resources and training for production staff. Coordinates with editorial teams and internal stakeholders to ensure that the presentation and performance of digital content engages the 50+ demographic and amplifies the organization's social mission. Builds partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders to support digital innovation and the development of multiplatform products and/or strategies. Manages print/video production, including estimates, SOW's, vendors, printer proofs, scheduling drop dates and in-home dates, alternative printing/video solutions. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in content strategy, multimedia production, or digital marketing with a focus on video content. Expertise in digital platforms such as social media, video-sharing sites (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), email, and destination websites. Strong knowledge of content optimization and cross-platform video distribution best practices. Exceptional communication, project management, and collaboration skills, with experience working across multiple teams. Strategic and analytical thinker with a data-driven approach to content decisions. Proficient in video production workflows, including pre- and post-production for both scripted and non-scripted content. Passion for AARP's mission and for creating impactful content for older adults; nonprofit/advocacy sector experience and familiarity with AARP initiatives preferred. Hybrid Work Environment

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
