Nonprofit Web & Digital Design Specialist Organization: Help Us Gather (HUG) Location: Clearwater, FL Employment Type: Full-Time, In-Person About Us Help Us Gather (HUG) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating inclusive communities for people with disabilities by hosting social events, building friendships, and raising awareness. Our mission is to bring joy, connection, and opportunity to people of all abilities. As we grow, we need a skilled digital professional who can strengthen our online presence and lend hands-on support for our community events. Position Overview We are seeking a Web & Digital Design Specialist with 3+ years of professional experience in WordPress design, development, and digital content management. This role is ideal for someone with a creative eye, strong technical skills, and a passion for making a difference. The right candidate will ensure that the nonprofit's websites are not only beautiful and functional but also reflect the heart of our mission while also assisting our team in producing impactful monthly events. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain responsive websites in WordPress (experience with Salient theme is preferred). Keep HUGs website current by adding and updating event pages, blogs, and resources. Manage plugins, security, performance, and integrations. Create engaging layouts, graphics, and digital assets that align with HUGs branding. Implement SEO and GEO (Generated Engine Optimization) strategies to increase visibility in both traditional search engines and AI-driven platforms. Track and analyze website performance, making data-driven recommendations for improvement. Support monthly HUG in-person events by assisting with planning, promotion, setup, and day-of execution. Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners, contributing ideas and solutions as a true team player. Ensure compliance with accessibility standards so our digital spaces are inclusive. Qualifications Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., Web Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, or similar). 3+ years of experience in WordPress/web design. Proficiency in WordPress CMS, plugins, and custom theme modifications. Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic PHP. Experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar). Knowledge of SEO and GEO (Generated Engine Optimization) best practices. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team-driven environment. A passion for inclusion and making communities more welcoming for people with disabilities. Salary range: $46,000 $63,000 depending on experience]. New college grads will only be considered with demonstrated experience and proficiency. Generous time off policy with 4 weeks paid time off and 10 paid holidays. 5% IRA match after two years.
