Associate Director Of Development & Communications
The Associate Director of Development & Communications has primary leadership responsibility for major department functions, particularly in fundraising and communications. The Associate Director of Development & Communications is expected to have substantial relationships with community members, donors, board members, administrators, faculty and staff. In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events. This posting includes qualifications, experience and skills but is not limited to the full specifications stated in the job description. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field together with two (2) or more years of relevant experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties. Demonstrated knowledge of computerized and manual systems for collecting, preserving and reporting information related to the work of the Division. Experience with segmented annual marketing and communications campaigns. Experience with the development and execution of direct mail campaigns, including print, e-communications and individual follow-up. Creative abilities including working independently to produce materials as well as with hired vendors. Experience in event development and execution. Knowledge of nonprofit communication concepts. Familiarity with the development of strategy and use of social media campaigns for nonprofits. Website content management and site maintenance using a CMS. Organizational and multitasking skills including ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to interact favorably with various communities, including external constituents, administrators, staff, faculty and students Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc.). Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience identifying and cultivating prospects using research, active strategies, etc. Starting Salary:
Minimum Salary range; $68,623 - $73,234 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. The salary will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications such as education and job-related experience, and internal equity.
