JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Director, the Recreation Marketing Coordinator promotes Parks and Recreation programs, facilities, and events through marketing, social media, and community partnerships. This role designs and manages print and digital campaigns, assists with coordinating special events, and strengthens the department's public image by delivering consistent, high-quality communications that engage the community.

Designs print and digital materials including catalogs, advertisements, banners, emails, and signage using Adobe Creative Suite, and coordinates the production and delivery of materials coordinating all phases of production. Writes and prepares copy for social media and website. Manages and utilizes multiple social media platforms to promote departmental programs, services, and community engagement. Performs ongoing website content management, in conjunction with other City departments. Consults with other staff to understand communication needs and develop marketing collateral that effectively promotes programs, services, and initiatives. Researches, develops, and manages marketing budgets and plans, evaluating outreach opportunities and recommending strategies that maximize impact and cost-effectiveness Collaborates with the Communications and Engagement Department to record, edit, and produce content for social media platforms. Attends special events to share real-time content on social media and assists with promotional booth. Assists with coordinating and planning department events and activities. Manages the department's special event sponsorship program from outreach through agreement execution, cultivating partnerships, ensuring commitments are met, and maintaining long-term sponsor relationships. Tracks and analyzes department performance metrics, preparing reports that highlight results, trends, and opportunities for improvement. Manages and leads community programs and events, including holiday programming, the Veterans Day Ceremony, Parks and Recreation Month initiatives, and other community partnerships. Acceptable Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor's Degree from a four (4) year college or university with major coursework in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design or a related field. Three (3) years or more of related, progressive web experience and multi-medium design work or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience in a Parks and Recreation setting is preferred. Experience working in a municipal government setting, preferred. Certification & License

Valid Texas driver's license and a good driving record.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA)

Knowledge ofmodern office procedures and office equipment. Knowledge of public information, public relations, marketing principles, image development, brand communication, design communication, industry software, file formats, web posting, and video management. Knowledge of computer graphic design principles, web content management systems, social media platforms, and alternative web media applications. Ability to adapt and perform effectively in varying work conditions, including completing tedious or exacting tasks, frequently changing assignments, and managing multiple priorities under time pressures. Ability to work collaboratively and constructively, maintaining effective relationships, communicating best practices positively, and responding quickly to resolve problems. Ability to remain dependable and resourceful, attending work regularly, working under pressure, and multi-tasking effectively to achieve organizational goals. Skill in exceptional writing and speaking; planning and directing work activities; operating various equipment and motorized vehicles; and using computer applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint. Work Conditions Physical Demand Work involves sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds. Some travel to events is required. Requires evening, weekend, and holiday hours to support events and programs. Frequent use of computers, office equipment, and graphic design software. Occasional lifting, carrying, and setup of event materials and equipment (up to 25 lbs). Regular local travel within the city using a motorized vehicle; occasional travel to regional events or meetings. Exposure to high public interaction and the need to maintain professionalism under time pressures. Environmental Demand Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Attendance at evening and weekend events is required.
