The Opportunity
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Brand & Marketing Communications to be the lead storyteller for the Heartflow brand. This role shapes our narrative and activates across all touchpoints, driving top-of-funnel activity and creating a brand halo for Heartflow. You will communicate our complex, life-saving technology to two audiences: physicians and healthcare systems (B2B) and patients themselves (DTP). What You’ll Be Doing
Brand Stewardship & Activation:
Activate the Heartflow brand across all marketing communications and target audiences (B2B and DTP). Ensure engaging and consistent execution of brand pillars and visual/verbal identity across channels. Strategic Messaging & Content:
Translate complex technology, scientific data, and medical concepts into clear, compelling messaging to build trust and drive action. Develop the overarching content strategy and lead brand content, storytelling, and campaigns. Integrated Campaign Leadership:
Manage integrated marketing campaigns from strategy through evaluation of performance against business objectives. Social & Community Engagement:
Oversee social media strategy to grow brand relevance, foster engagement, and participate in clinical conversations. Cross-Functional Leadership:
Build relationships with Marketing, Sales, Product, Clinical, and other teams to ensure timely and impactful brand communications. Measurement & Optimization:
Establish measurement for brand health, creative performance, and social media; evaluate funnel dynamics and ROI of brand marketing. Agency & Partner Management:
Manage external consultants and agencies, directing briefs to achieve outstanding results. What We’re Looking For In You
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferably business or science. 10+ years of progressive experience in brand marketing, advertising, and strategy within life sciences (medical device, pharma); mix of in-house and agency preferred. Experience developing communications strategies for both B2B (physicians, hospitals) and Direct-to-Patient (DTP/DTC) audiences. Data-driven mindset with a track record of using insights to inform strategy, messaging, and measurement. Portfolio of innovative creative initiatives that drove measurable success. Proven people leadership with a passion for mentoring and building high-performing teams. Collaborative and effective communicator who drives cross-functional alignment. Strategic thinker with attention to detail and the ability to execute.
