Department Overview The Marketing Department is responsible for planning and executing programs to grow revenue, increase market share and enhance the Firm’s brand. The department focuses on strategic marketing initiatives across key stakeholder groups and leverages a wide range of engagement tactics to build recognition of Golub Capital as the premier firm in its markets. Key stakeholder groups include private equity sponsors, investors, financing partners and employees. Centralized departmental functions include marketing content and strategy, communications and PR, advertising, event management, digital marketing and creative services. The Marketing Department collaborates closely with Firm leadership, the Investor Partners Group, Human Resources and the Direct Lending and Golub Growth Teams to develop strategic marketing plans in line with business objectives.

Position Responsibilities The Senior Director (or Director) will be the senior marketing partner to Golub Capital’s Investor Partners Group (IPG). This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated marketing plans that facilitate investor engagement and burnish the Firm’s brand with investors globally. This individual will collaborate closely with IPG senior management and the Global Institutional Sales, Private Wealth, Structured Products and BDC Teams to develop cross-channel marketing and sales enablement programs aligned to business objectives. Investor marketing tactics include annual general meetings and analyst days, conferences and sponsorships, digital and multimedia campaigns, email marketing, in-person and virtual events, gifting programs, the creation and distribution of marketing collateral, speaking engagements, thought leadership and education campaigns, webcasts and quarterly calls.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

Developing strategic cross-channel marketing plans that resonate with institutional and private wealth investors in close partnership with senior leaders and IPG business lines. Ensuring marketing program KPIs align with business objectives and increase brand awareness.

Managing a team of 5 marketing professionals responsible for the implementation of investor marketing programs. Ensuring the team is delivering Gold Standard results and client service.

Being an effective player-coach. Managing the execution of certain key projects directly and delegating project management with effective oversight of others.

Managing and tracking the investor marketing budget, ensuring adherence to budget and related processes.

Driving the development and implementation of brand messaging and content for investor events and campaigns, ensuring communications are brand-aligned, accurate and engaging to the investor audience.

Cultivating a strong understanding of the Firm’s investors, investment products and private credit as an asset class.

Providing quantitative and qualitative reporting on program progress and effectiveness to the Head of Marketing and IPG business partners, recommending pivots to strategy as informed by data-driven insights.

Staying current on industry best practices, market dynamics and the competitive landscape in private credit.

Applying creativity and analysis to develop new marketing initiatives, processes and modes of investor engagement that improve the Firm’s investor marketing program.

Working closely with colleagues on the Marketing Team (across Content Marketing, Communications, Events, Digital, Creative Services and Operations verticals).

Qualifications Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required

15+ years of experience managing cross-channel investor marketing programs at a financial institution or asset manager. Experience marketing alternative strategies (ideally private equity or credit). Experience managing global marketing programs is a plus and the ideal candidate will have experience managing marketing programs in both the institutional investor and private wealth channels.

10+ years of experience managing a team of marketers

Strong understanding of the institutional and private wealth fundraising and brand building functions

Sophisticated understanding of cross-channel investor marketing approaches and investor engagement tactics

Familiarity with investor communications and thought leadership content

Experience building collaborative relationships with senior salespeople at a financial institution / asset manager and building holistic marketing programs tied to business goals and KPIs

Knowledge of the alternative investor conference and events circuit

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Meticulous attention to detail and passion for delivering high-quality work

Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team in collaboration with multiple business partners

Excellent project management skills with strong emphasis on process, meeting deadlines and delivering best-in-class results

“Can do” and proactive attitude as demonstrated in prior work experience

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Compensation And Benefits For New York Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $300,000 to $350,000 for a Senior Director and $250,000 to $300,000 for a Director. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package may include other elements and discretionary awards, along with a full range of medical, financial and other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an offer is made. At-will employment status applies and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary and other compensation at any time, including for performance, department needs and market factors.
