Overview
The Media Planner, Automotive plans, negotiates, and executes digital media campaigns. This role participates in day-to-day planning and analysis and maintains strong relationships with media vendors, automotive clients, and partner agencies. Responsibilities focus on delivering timely, high-quality deliverables such as Media Plans, POVs, and related analyses.
Responsibilities
Work alongside offline Integrated media planning and buying teams to provide digital insight for objectives and strategies applied to the overall Automotive client media plan. Plan digital media campaign strategy in tandem with the traditional media team
Research, plan, execute and manage performance reporting and analysis/optimization efforts for digital media campaigns including Digital Display (rich and standard), Online Radio, Video, Mobile Display, Online Gaming
Collaborate with paid search and SEO teams to manage internal communications, performance reporting, and budget allocation for assigned accounts
Under the direction of the Digital Media Supervisor, organize, implement, and control the day-to-day media planning development process, including coordination among assistants
Oversee and train assistant-level staff and support their growth and development
Under the direction of the Digital Media Supervisor, present recommendations, POVs, and analyses to Automotive clients and Account Service personnel, and deliver performance reporting to clients on a regular basis (often weekly)
Use digital media tools to research and plan client campaigns, including competitive analysis and site traffic and demographic concentrations
Manage client media billing approval and invoice reconciliations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, or related field
2+ years media planning experience; experience in Media/Agency, Digital and Traditional media (TV, Cable, Radio) is highly preferred
Demonstrated presentation and writing skills
Experience negotiating with and managing digital vendors
Experience evaluating and recommending strategy and placements for digital campaigns
Proficiency with MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience in retail, client-facing operations is desirable
Full-service agency experience preferred
Working knowledge of ad servers
Experience supporting Automotive clients
