Overview
Senior Producer/Manager – BYU Music Group: Brigham Young University seeks an Executive Producer/Manager to lead BYU Music Group (BYU Records, Tantara Records, and BYU Music Publishing Group). This unique role blends creative vision with strategic leadership, overseeing the production, branding, and distribution of music recordings, video content, and sheet music tied to BYU’s world-renowned ensembles. The successful candidate will balance artistic excellence, operational efficiency, and institutional mission while managing a team of staff, students, and contractors.
What You’ll Do In This Position
- Lead creative direction for recordings, music videos, and sheet music projects.
- Develop strategies to ensure BYU Music Group’s financial and artistic sustainability.
- Oversee budgets, contracts, licensing, and digital distribution across global platforms.
- Supervise and mentor staff, students, and contractors while coordinating with campus partners.
Required
What qualifies you for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in the record label or entertainment industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of licensing, distribution, and industry operations.
Preferred
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
- 7+ years of progressive music production or entertainment industry experience.
- Familiarity with Pro Tools, Final Cut, Photoshop, QuickBooks, or similar tools.

Pay Grade: 54
Typical Starting Pay: $79,500-$103,500
