Lead Audio Visual (A/V) Technician/Installer at Strategic Communications
Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly, Full-Time - Primarily First Shift (Monday through Friday)
Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates; hourly rate will be determined based on knowledge, education, experience and certifications.

Responsibilities
- Leading and assisting A/V installation teams with installing, maintaining, operating, and upgrading A/V equipment and VTC units
- Performing preventive maintenance on A/V and VTC systems and related equipment (may include climbing ladders and use of lift devices; proficiency with standard tools; soldering and crimping connections)
- Providing client consulting and training on controls, interfaces and use of A/V and VTC equipment
- Troubleshooting software for Extron, Crestron, AMX, Cisco, and Polycom A/V and VTC equipment
- Providing field reporting updates to Strategic Project Managers as necessary
- Providing life cycle refresh projects for VTC infrastructure and A/V equipment build-out projects
- Assisting with developing Scope of Work (SOW), building Bills of Materials (BOM), maintaining and updating project documentation, attending customer-facing meetings, and performing customer briefings as required
- Conducting site surveys; working knowledge of telecom systems, TCP/IP networks, CCTV security and/or access control systems strongly preferred
- Assisting with voice/data structured cabling installations (pull/terminate/test CAT 6a), installing cable pathway systems, testing, labeling and documenting cabling
- Lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds of VTC and A/V equipment without assistance
Travel is required and estimated at 25-50% (regional and throughout CONUS); must be capable of shifting hours as needed to accommodate project demands.
Education and Experience
- Ability to install, terminate and test low voltage cables; certification preferred (fiber experience a plus)
- Technical certifications and product expertise required to provide support services for video conferencing and A/V solutions
- CRM (service/relationship management software) experience preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in installing low voltage, A/V and/or VTC systems; 7+ years preferred
- Knowledge of Extron systems required; AMX-Harman, Bi-Amp, Cisco, Crestron, and Polycom systems preferred
- Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred
- AVIXA/InfoComm CTS or CTS-I strongly preferred (willing to obtain)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ certifications preferred (willing to obtain)
- Experience working with multiple departments and managing multiple tasks concurrently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of frequent interaction with team members, customers and vendors
- Knowledge of construction documentation and blueprint reading
- Driver’s license required; safe driving record; capable of passing a government background check and obtaining a security clearance if needed
