Title: Lead AV Technician - Buffalo
Department: Operations
Reports To: Project Manager or Account Executive
Position Purpose and Objectives
This position is responsible and accountable for directing and overseeing a team of technicians responsible for the installation of hardware components of audio-visual systems, ensuring all financial, programmatic and operating targets are met. It reports to a Project Manager and is a member of the Operations team supporting a best-in-class AV integration program. The Lead AV Technician will work independently to coordinate, receive, inventory, assemble and install AV equipment on job sites in accordance with company policies and procedures, including quality, safety, environmental, and business practices.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee actions of others and complete installations independently when required.
- Coordinate, schedule, and direct one or more installation teams; manage travel arrangements when needed.
- Train and oversee level one and level two technicians and assist them in attaining higher level certifications.
- Move and reposition large equipment or wiring supplies; lift and carry heavy objects up to 75 lbs unassisted and steady objects above shoulder height with coworker assistance.
- Troubleshoot audio and video equipment installations.
- Install and terminate cables with appropriate solder or compression connectors.
- Drill in drywall, concrete, and cinderblock for projectors, projection screens, cameras, and speaker systems.
- Work in confined spaces and on ladders or lifts at heights above 10 ft.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Prior AV team leadership and management experience (2-4 years).
- CTS-I certification or ability to achieve certification within 60 days of start date.
- Successfully complete criminal background check, motor vehicle review, physical and drug test prior to start.
- Strong communication skills and experience directing teams.
- Computer proficiency with Google, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with hand tools, small power tools and industrial tools.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly and make decisions under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving and time management skills; professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
- Valid driver’s license with fewer than two citations in the last two years and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and complete ladder and other safety training.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct one or more AV technician teams on job sites.
- Coordinate travel and accommodation needs for AV technician teams.
- Manage relationships with customer points-of-contact at job sites.
Working Conditions
Work can be in normal, comfortable, air-conditioned environments, but may also include less comfortable cold or hot construction environments and, on rare occasions, tasks may require outdoor work.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour or commensurate with experience, compliant with New York prevailing wage requirements where applicable.
Job Location: Job sites vary throughout the Buffalo, NY metropolitan area. Residency within 60 miles of Buffalo, NY is required. Opportunities to work at job sites across the country are also available.
