What We’re Searching For

An ambitious and professional individual with a desire to gain knowledge in the construction industry. The ideal candidate would be capable of working with minimal supervision but willing to follow directions closely. The candidate should be excited to learn new skills and enjoy working within a close and supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists skilled workers as assigned. This may include jobs such as demolition, carrying lumber, or construction.
  • Operate Mini Excavator and Hydro Excavator, as needed.
  • Unloads materials that are delivered such as lumber or bags of cement and distributes them to appropriate location as identified by supervisor, project plans, or specifications.
  • Prepares layout area where construction will take place by properly measuring, marking, or recording openings or distances.
  • Prepares tools and materials for skilled workers such as mixing cement or preparing flooring for installation.
  • Cleans and prepares specific areas of the jobsite as assigned, including digging trenches, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up rubble, debris, and trash, or removing hazardous materials.
  • Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Directs traffic near, in, or around work zones.
  • Moves equipment and assists with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
  • Cleans the jobsite at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are stored.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

About You

The ideal candidate should have the ability to:

  • Listen, understand, and follow directions.
  • Remain flexible as specific assignments change.
  • Work with a variety of personalities.
  • Perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory.

The ideal candidate should be able to:

  • Have the physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
  • Work in all weather conditions.
  • Stand and walk up to ten hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.

Education and Experience

  • Prior construction or excavator operator experience desired, though not required.

Schedule

Monday - Thursday with Fridays as needed.

Salary

$20/hr - $28/hr depending on experience. Health Insurance and 401K after probationary period.
