Overview

Assistant Community Manager role at Mill Creek Residential. The Assistant Community Manager assists the Community Manager in supporting performance standards and maintaining all aspects of community operations. This leader works to develop, empower, and inspire associates toward the achievement of desired business outcomes. The Assistant Manager serves as the Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the Community Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and Marketing: warmly greet prospective residents, determine needs and preferences, answer calls, complete lease applications, verify applications, and notify applicants of results in a timely manner
  • Competitive intelligence: conduct market surveys of rents, specials, and events at competitor properties
  • Data and reporting: enter accurate data into information systems, manage Entrata tasks and leads, and prepare leasing reports for the Manager
  • Property readiness: ensure office, clubroom, models, and market-ready units are in impeccable condition
  • Support social media advertising as directed by the Manager
  • Move-ins: assist with move-in preparations (walk-through, gifts, packages) as directed by the Manager
  • Neighborhood knowledge: be familiar with the surrounding area to confidently share information with prospects and residents
  • Other duties: address and complete all other duties as assigned
  • Operational Standards: accept rents and make deposits; maintain accurate records in Yardi and update rents, deposits, and application fees daily; issue notices as necessary
  • Reporting: update reports daily on notices to vacate, vacancy, and activity; participate in Revenue Management calls when applicable
  • Staff supervision: oversee Concierge and Leasing Consultants as directed
  • Documentation: complete new lease and renewal paperwork and related addendums; complete resident communications
  • Compliance: adhere to all policies and procedures; ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws including Fair Housing regulations
  • Other duties: address and complete all other duties as assigned
  • Customer Service: support the customer experience vision, communicate service standards, address resident concerns promptly, assist with move-ins, renewals, moves, and transfers
  • Resident engagement: contribute ideas to improve resident satisfaction and participate in the property renewal program to increase retention
  • Maintenance coordination: accept service requests and route to service departments; follow up for completion and satisfaction
  • Property stewardship: perform property checks and report maintenance needs; embody Mill Creek values and brand promise
  • Other duties: address and complete all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED); Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of multi-family leasing or related property management experience, or equivalent experience
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Multi-Family or related property management, retail sales, or hospitality

Skills and Knowledge

  • Clear English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Professional judgment and ability to resolve resident issues
  • Knowledge of community inventory, pricing, availability, and local area competitors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Entrata, Yardi, and revenue management software
  • Basic arithmetic and general office equipment operation
  • Ability to travel between communities if necessary
  • Reliable attendance and timekeeping
