Related Affordable seeks a passionate and results-driven Traveling Community Manager to support day-to-day operations of LIHTC and HUD Section 8 affordable housing communities throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. You will be at the heart of fostering a flourishing, well-maintained, and supportive living environment for residents, overseeing a dedicated team, driving operational excellence, and ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee leasing, marketing, recertifications, and administrative functions.
  • Ensure seamless financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, rent collection, and delinquency management.
  • Build strong relationships with residents and handle tenant/landlord relations, including conflict resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with affordable housing programs (HDC, HCR, HUD, LIHTC, etc.).
  • Supervise property maintenance and ensure timely, high-quality service.
  • Develop and manage the property’s financial budget.
  • Prepare key reports to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and inspire your team, including hiring, training, and evaluating office and maintenance staff.
  • Take on special projects that enhance the community and drive operational success.

Compensation

  • $72,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
  • Annual Performance Bonus

This range is a general guideline and reflects the pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, location, and responsibilities. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Must be located in the New Jersey area (air travel not provided). Travel may be required to properties in Northern NJ, Central/Southern NJ, and occasionally Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Hershey).
  • 3+ years of property management leadership experience.
  • Expertise in compliance for affordable housing programs (HUD Project-Based Section 8, LIHTC, etc.).
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget management and accounting principles.
  • Experience with RealPage OneSite and JD Edwards (or similar property management software).
  • Proven leadership skills with direct supervisory experience.
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for creating great living experiences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive issues professionally.
  • Demonstrates accountability and reliability, prioritizing precision and attention to detail, and engaging in ongoing learning and collaboration to support resident-centered service.
