About Highbeam (NYC or Toronto 5x a week)

Highbeam is an operating banking and cash management platform for businesses that sell physical goods.

Traditional banks have underserved consumer brands for decades. They charge fees, provide clunky backend software, bureaucratic service, zero interest on cash, no credit, and offer no intelligence on transaction data. Highbeam does the opposite. We automatically sweep idle cash to high yield, provide cash projections, bill pay functions, a user-friendly interface, smart credit, great service, and more. The results are significant savings for our customers in both time and money. We’re turning banking from a cost centre into a profit centre, and helping small businesses make a better living.

We already have hundreds of customers that collectively produce over billions in GMV (gross merchant volume). We’re on a mission to give brands between $1M and $200M in sales the financial capabilities of the largest brands — but without needing the extra head count. How do we do this? We help automate tasks that treasury and financial planning & analysis teams today do manually.

Our small but mighty team comes from places like Shopify, Square, Rippling and Toast. We have millions in equity from FirstMark and Mayfield. We are based in New York and Toronto.

About this role We're looking for a tech-forward Content & Activations Manager who combines strategic thought leadership with hands-on execution. This role goes beyond traditional social media management to include content strategy, executive ghostwriting, event activations, and authority building. You'll be the "chief cook and bottle washer" for our content ecosystem, leveraging AI tools and new technologies to maximize efficiency and impact.

This role will be in-person in New York or Toronto and reports to our Head of Growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • LinkedIn and CEO-focused content creation - Develop and execute content strategies for executive channels
  • Ghost writing for leadership - Craft thought leadership content that builds authority and creates FOMO
  • Social media management - Manage Highbeam brand channels as well as key executive channels to connect with customers
  • Multi-platform content production - Create engaging content for LinkedIn, Twitter, newsletters, website, and other mediums
  • AI-driven content creation - Leverage new tools and technologies for maximum efficiency and scale

Events & Activations

  • Event content capture and creation - Document and amplify key moments from events, conferences, and company activities
  • Podcast outreach and content clipping - Identify opportunities and create derivative content from podcast appearances
  • Community building - Identify opportunities to bond with existing and prospect customers on a deep level

Strategic Projects

  • Project management - Coordinate content initiatives including potential book writing projects
  • Authority building - Develop strategies that position our leadership as industry thought leaders
  • Brand narrative management - Ensure our stories resonate with customers and drive engagement

Required Background & Experience

Professional Experience

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated growth and promotion (similar to high-performing backgrounds at companies like Peloton)
  • Platform development experience - Evolution from social management to strategic platform building
  • Startup/VC ecosystem familiarity - Experience working with VCs, portfolio companies, or high-growth startups
  • Personal brand building - Built own social channels, meme pages, or content platforms

Core Skills

  • Exceptional writing skills - Must be able to ghost write effectively for executives
  • Video editing capabilities - Phone-level minimum (we can hire specialists for advanced work)
  • Tech-forward mindset - Understanding of how to leverage new tools for efficiency and scale
  • Project management - Ability to coordinate complex, multi-faceted content initiatives
