Job Overview

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Design Consultant located in Indianapolis, IN. This job is fit for anyone who likes working with customers in making their homes or offices look great. The Design Consultant will be responsible for traveling to customers\' homes and businesses, assisting clients with providing expert advice on interior design, selecting window coverings, and ensuring that customer needs are met with high-quality shades, blinds, drapery and other window treatment items.

Compensation includes fixed salary during start-up, evolving to 100% commission-based income with the potential for growth as the business scales.

The position will grow with the individual - starting out at part-time, the position could evolve to a full-time role, as well as a General Manager role as business scales.

Duties

• Customer consultations to help them choose shades, blinds, drapery and shutters appropriate for customers\' windows and glass doors
• Continuous learning of interior design, products and the window covering industry
• Carying shade and fabric samples between the car and customers\' homes
• Safe driving of company vehicle
• Tracking customer orders and scheduling/coordinating product installation and follow-up services, working with the General Manager

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service orientation and listening skills

• Pays attention to and thinks through details pertaining to design, practicality and functionality
• Interpersonal skills that draw people in, and is able to dress professionally
• Ability to work on Windows PC and iPad to operate web-based customer management and ordering system
• Experience in Interior Design, Furniture, and Furnishings a plus, but not necessary
• Experience in presenting product demos is a plus, but not necessary
• Experience in sales a plus, but not necessary
• High school diploma or equivalent
