Web Graphic Designer (Part-time) Staff Pool – Houston, Texas

We are seeking an exceptional individual to advance the institution’s tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service. If you’re a tech-savvy, process-improvement-focused designer with a talent for developing partnerships with communities and individuals, we want to hear from you. This role emphasizes the student experience in planning and execution, collaboration, innovation, and getting things done.

Education

Associate’s degree in web-based multi-media, graphic arts, digital communications, or a related field. Four (4) years directly-related work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Experience

Minimum of three (3) years web graphic design experience. Experience in an institution of higher education is preferred, with preference given for community college or health care experience. Experience supporting hardware and software in PC and Macintosh environments. A sample of a professional portfolio is required at the time of interview.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience using four or more of: Adobe (Macromedia) Director, Adobe (Macromedia) Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Web Page GUI Software
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Flash, HTML, XML
  • Experience supporting hardware and software in PC and Macintosh environments
  • Ability to use graphic and web development tools on both Macintosh and Windows
  • Up-to-date with online copyright laws and issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
