Responsibilities

  • Direct technology projects through all stages of the project life cycle, from planning and development to production.
  • Collaborate and communicate with diverse stakeholders in an educational environment.
  • Configure and maintain web development environments and related systems.
  • Administer learning management systems (e.g., WebCT, Blackboard Vista).
  • Train and support faculty in the production of course materials for online delivery, in individual or group settings.
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex websites and applications using modern web technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Web Production, Instructional Technology or related field required; eight (8) years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience and at least one (1) year of programming experience in a web-based environment.
  • Experience in Windows and Macintosh environments is required.
  • Experience in multimedia design and programming in a higher education or community college environment is preferred.
  • Experience administering LMS such as WebCT and Blackboard Vista.
  • Knowledge of HTML/XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and server/client-side scripting (ASP, PHP, Python or Java).
  • Strong ability to direct projects, communicate effectively, and work with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency with multimedia authoring tools and content management systems.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and graphics applications (Windows, Macintosh).
