Job Summary
You will contribute to one or more LuminAI-based projects, providing support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory. Responsibilities include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. Specific duties are determined by assignment and unit needs. This position interacts with faculty, staff and students and may advise lab users.
Projects
- LuminAI: Implement the Body Action Taxonomy within the pipeline (original five-module pipeline and one-panel design).
- LuminAIx: Work on panels one and three of an ongoing AI literacy installation.
- LuminAI at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport: Design a LuminAI Lite version to run for eight+ hours daily and collect installation data, exploring sensor integration.
- LuminAI Duet: Support two installations for local user training and cross-border sharing of dance moves.
Responsibilities
- Setup, operate and maintain instruments and equipment used in lab tests and experiments.
- Order supplies and materials and maintain records.
- Prepare laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.
- Clean instruments, glassware, and other lab equipment as needed.
- Prepare and process laboratory samples for assigned tests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Requirements: High school diploma, GED or Vocational School Diploma.
- Other Required Qualifications: Ability to work outside typical business hours as needed (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- Required Experience: Up to two years of job-related experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Unity software experience.
Compensation
Proposed salary: 20 hours per week at $30/hour.
Skills
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Working knowledge of instrumentation and lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures for assigned lab; inventory management and use of specialized computer applications.
