Role Description
This is a part-time, hybrid role for a volunteer Music Promotion Representative located in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Based on experience and interests, representatives will be handed tasks regarding booking, reporting, and/or research. While this is not a paying gig, this is a great opportunity to network with musicians, get familiar with the industry, and help pave the way to making the Bay Area the center of independent music. This is great for people who love to attend live shows, have a creative mindset, and are self motivated. Ticket fees to assigned concerts (big and small) will be covered. Photographers, videographers, and writers are highly encouraged to apply.
Note: THIS IS NOT A ROLE WHERE YOU WILL BE CREATING OR PRODUCING MUSIC. This is a flexible role suitable for college students and post grads.
What to Include In Your Application
- Describe your involvement with the music and arts community. Share experiences such as booking a gig for your band or promoting a release. Include details about tech setup, writing, social media content creation, and familiarity with Bay Area live music venues. Explain what artists/genres you follow and your last attended live show.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old to apply
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative mindset with a strong appreciation for music, especially live music
- Experience using social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and/or TikTok)
- Proficiency with digital tools like Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Creator Studios
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Available for 1-2 weekly meetings held virtually over Zoom
- Ability to work well in both a team setting and independently
Nice-to-Have (Not Required)
- Experience in Event Coordination and Artist Outreach
- Knowledge of the music industry and passion for working with artists
- Experience in a non-profit or volunteer capacity
- Strong research and writing skills
- Photographers, videographers, and writers are encouraged to apply
This role will occur between August-December with potential to continue further.
