Overview
Crooked Media is looking for a dynamic, endlessly curious, and innovative producer for our daily news podcast, What A Day. Our team works to help listeners start their day informed, engaged, and ready to discuss current events with clarity and humor.
Responsibilities
- Using daily news judgment to assist with editorial planning, research, script writing, and prepping the host for daily shows
- Monitoring the news and staying in the loop with current events
- Booking guests and collaborating with the host on smart questions and approaches
- Crafting copy and questions that are clear, snappy, and accurate
- Cutting interviews and conversations and identifying compelling audio clips
- Maintaining journalistic integrity while balancing Crooked’s tone and humor
- Filling in for the senior producer as needed
- Providing in-studio feedback to the host during recordings and QCing the show as needed
- Collaborating and communicating across the organization
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in news, editorial, radio, or podcast production
- Proven ability to work within daily or political news environments under tight deadlines
- Excellent writing, editing, and research skills with strong editorial judgment
- Track record of booking guests on tight deadlines
- Solid understanding of journalism principles and ethics
- Humor and resilience in面对 challenging news cycles
- Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity
- Proficiency with Descript, ProTools, Adobe Audition, or other audio editing software
- Self-motivated, collaborative, creative, and accountable approach
- Flexibility to adapt to change and respond to audience needs
- Experience delivering news with a humorous or entertaining tone

Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary: $100,000 (salary may reflect experience and other compensable factors)

Work Location
