Overview Crooked Media is looking for a dynamic, endlessly curious, and innovative producer for our daily news podcast, What A Day. Our team works to help listeners start their day informed, engaged, and ready to discuss current events with clarity and humor. Responsibilities Using daily news judgment to assist with editorial planning, research, script writing, and prepping the host for daily shows Monitoring the news and staying in the loop with current events Booking guests and collaborating with the host on smart questions and approaches Crafting copy and questions that are clear, snappy, and accurate Cutting interviews and conversations and identifying compelling audio clips Maintaining journalistic integrity while balancing Crooked’s tone and humor Filling in for the senior producer as needed Providing in-studio feedback to the host during recordings and QCing the show as needed Collaborating and communicating across the organization Qualifications 4+ years of experience in news, editorial, radio, or podcast production Proven ability to work within daily or political news environments under tight deadlines Excellent writing, editing, and research skills with strong editorial judgment Track record of booking guests on tight deadlines Solid understanding of journalism principles and ethics Humor and resilience in面对 challenging news cycles Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity Proficiency with Descript, ProTools, Adobe Audition, or other audio editing software Self-motivated, collaborative, creative, and accountable approach Flexibility to adapt to change and respond to audience needs Experience delivering news with a humorous or entertaining tone Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in coverage and workplace Compensation & Benefits Starting salary: $100,000 (salary may reflect experience and other compensable factors) Structured benefits including medical, dental, and vision with company-paid premiums for most plans Generous vacation and paid leave (sick, bereavement, pregnancy loss, disability leaves) 20 weeks of paid parental leave Commuter reimbursement or paid parking Monthly communications stipend Relocation support where applicable Company donation matches to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations About Us We are an inclusive workplace that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
