Position Summary
This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work with Marketing & Communications staff in a team environment as well as with campus clients. Responsibilities include coordinating with the Assistant Director for Photography and other staff to manage tasks and produce high-quality photography. The role requires extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, Raw Image Converter, Photo Mechanic, and digital asset management systems. The employee will participate in weekly planning and production meetings and handle lighting for a variety of assignments, including campus news, alumni publications, web pages, and promotional materials. Evening and weekend work and occasional out-of-town travel are expected.
Responsibilities
- Active photographer to conceptualize and produce images that support marketing campaigns and departmental initiatives; manage field and studio photography, image editing, asset management, and equipment logistics.
- Lead photo team efforts for internal publications and special projects; coordinate photo assignments and ensure deadlines and final image selections are met.
- Create enterprise news, feature, and stock photographs of campus subjects, events, and people.
- Support relationships between the Marketing & Communications photography staff and students/faculty; participate in job shadowing and mentoring as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned (time allocation may vary by project).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Education/experience evaluation can be discussed with the HR office.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, Raw Image Converter, Photo Mechanic, and digital asset management systems. Familiarity with Outlook and Asana for communications and task management.
Physical Demands & Other Details
- Work in a standard office environment; driving, lifting equipment, standing, and walking for long periods may be required.
- May require driving, P-Card not required, and no direct interaction with children.
