Position Summary

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the STUDIO Fitting Specialist works in partnership with all store associates and the store leadership team to provide an exceptional shopping experience and execute company directives.

Responsibilities

The STUDIO Fitting Specialist is a world-class customer experience advocate and a specialized role offering a unique fitting experience using technology, fitting components, and techniques incremental to our free club fitting service. They maximize the customer experience by keeping work areas clean, organized, and in stock, ensuring fitting technologies are in working order, and communicating information to customers clearly and respectfully. They expand their industry knowledge by learning about our products from vendors, industry websites, and other associates. They use expert product knowledge to make effective equipment recommendations and drive incremental sales.

  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and acknowledging every customer, listening to their needs, and offering solutions from our service offerings and merchandise.
  • Execute a specialized fitting experience with illustrations of specialty golf club components from key vendor partners.
  • Assess customers’ needs by determining their level of play and find the most effective product for them.
  • Educate customers on club and ball technology, club components, and fitting techniques to support purchase decisions.
  • Be an expert in using industry-leading club fitting technology, including launch monitor technologies and OEM-specific fitting tools.
  • Teach and train other associates on fitting techniques and product configurations.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve them to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high level of product and industry knowledge.
  • Complete work lists and directives in a timely manner.
  • Assist with visual merchandising, floor moves, display maintenance to ensure merchandising standards.
  • Walk the work area daily to correct issues, implement merchandising standards, and maintain a clean and safe shopping environment; suggest improvements to the Services supervisor.
  • Adhere to approved loss prevention programs that minimize inventory shrinkage and support store profitability; provide feedback to store leadership on loss prevention issues/opportunities as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Communication: Strong listening and interpersonal skills; good verbal and written communication; effectively collaborate with associates to execute initiatives.
  • Analytical: Ability to identify opportunities, develop strategies to increase sales, and improve operational processes.
  • Computer: Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office; ability to learn scheduling software, simulator software, and basic report functions.
  • Organization: Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to implement established/proven fitting principles and utilize new or advanced fitting technology.
    • Ability to apply ball flight principles to evaluate a customer’s needs.
    • Ability to describe the characteristics of club components and their impact on ball flight and the fitting process.
    • Effective teacher/trainer able to help others learn fitting skills and techniques.
  • Education: GED or high school diploma; OEM training; vendor training certification is a plus.
  • Experience: Three to five (3-5) years of club fitting and golf equipment sales experience preferred.
  • Working conditions and physical demands:
    • Stand for extended periods; climb stairs/ladder; move around the store; lift up to 30 lb.
    • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed; occasional travel for continuing education or new-store setup and training.
