We are looking for a self-motivated, passionate, and resourceful Applied Scientist to bring diverse perspectives and skills to Prime Video. You will be a hands-on machine learning practitioner and a research leader, building and guiding machine learning models from the ground up. Your contributions will benefit millions of Amazon.com customers worldwide.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop AI solutions for various Prime Video Search systems using deep learning, GenAI, reinforcement learning, and optimization methods
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to design, implement, and launch AI solutions end-to-end
  • Design and conduct offline and online (A/B) experiments to evaluate proposed solutions based on in-depth data analyses
  • Communicate technical and non-technical ideas effectively with teammates and stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field
  • Publish research findings in top conferences and journals

About The Team

Prime Video Search Science team owns science solutions to power search experiences on various devices, from sourcing and relevance to ranking. We work closely with engineering teams to launch solutions in production.

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
  • 3+ years of building models for business applications
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Are enrolled in a PhD in computer science, machine learning, engineering, or related field
  • Experience in search, advertising, recommendation systems or related domains

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, with potential equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits as part of a full package.
