Expository Writing Tutor role at Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company. The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students nationwide with online Expository Writing tutors. You’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring for Expository Writing.
• Accept on-demand (Instant) tutoring requests when available.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you would like.
• Leverage the Live Learning Platform to deliver sessions remotely (no commuting).
• Be matched with students who fit your teaching style and expertise.

What We Look For In a Tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Expository Writing with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential to earn up to $40/hour with repeated sessions with the same student.
• Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice.
• We handle logistics; you invoice for sessions and we process payments.
