The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects tutors with students nationwide for online High School Writing instruction. As a tutor on the platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and influence students’ learning journeys—from your home.

Overview

Location: Remote (online tutoring). Role: High School Writing Tutor. Engagement: Platform-based tutoring with scheduling and invoicing handled by Varsity Tutors.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring for High School Writing.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Teach remotely using Varsity Tutors’ Live Learning Platform (no commuting).
• Prepare personalized lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors processes payments.
• Utilize the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to assist with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects; higher pay with the same student over time (up to $40/hour).
• Get paid up to twice per week for completed sessions.
• AI-assisted features to save prep time and enhance teaching effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in High School Writing with the ability to clearly explain concepts.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to diverse learning styles.
• Priority given to candidates with tutoring or teaching experience and/or graduate-level education.
