Will consider candidates who can work from our Woodbury, MN campus. This role follows a hybrid work schedule, with in-office presence required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays each week.
Job Summary The
Senior Director of Corporate Public Relations & Communications
will lead the PR/Communications strategies to drive consumer awareness, brand engagement, and franchise development across Purpose Brands’ portfolio. This leader will define the right initiatives to maximize owned and earned PR/media channels. This highly visible role is responsible for developing and executing integrated PR campaigns that build trust, elevate brand reputation, and attract both consumers and prospective franchisees—domestically and internationally. With strong media relationships and a proven track record in storytelling and reputation management, this leader plays a critical role in positioning Purpose Brands and its executives as thought leaders in the wellness, fitness, and franchising space. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the role partners closely with marketing, franchise development, legal, and executive leadership.
Responsibilities
Consumer PR: Lead earned and owned PR media strategies that increase consumer awareness, engagement and consideration. Secure national, regional, and digital media coverage to boost visibility across all brands and drive significant impressions across all outlets. Develop spokesperson programs and prepare executives and franchisees for identified PR media opportunities.
Franchise Development PR: Build and execute PR campaigns that raise awareness among prospective franchisees. Partner with the Franchise Development team to support lead generation efforts through strategic PR media placements, event presence, and storytelling that highlight Purpose Brands' impact and growth. Support Event implementation for both Speaking opportunities, as well as brand presence.
Reputation & Crisis Management: Proactively manage brand reputation, providing swift, clear, and confident communication during sensitive crisis situations. Maintain the crisis communications playbook and collaborate with Legal and HR on real-time issues.
Messaging & Alignment: Ensure consistent, on-brand messaging across internal and external channels—including franchise networks, international markets, and media platforms. Advise senior leaders on reputation risks and brand opportunities. Define and create quarterly company wide overview reports and pitch decks.
Team & Agency Management: Collaborate with additional company functions (marketing, legal, franchise development, finance, HR) and oversee external agencies. Track media impact, analyze PR performance, and adjust campaigns based on insights.
Qualifications & Strengths
10+ years in public relations, with a strong background in consumer PR media strategy
Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, Journalism, or related field
Proven success in franchise or multi-unit brand communications
Expertise in media relations, crisis communications, and reputation management
Excellent writing, storytelling, and executive communication skills
Experience with international or multi-brand portfolios preferred
