If you are looking for a fulfilling and rewarding Graphic Designer position, United Way of Tarrant County (UWTC) is the place for you. The Graphic Designer is responsible for the development of creative for collateral and promotional materials. This includes ads, invitations, signage, flyers, brochures, posters as well as promotional items and giveaways. This position also is responsible for the development of interactive and digital creative.

We currently are searching for a qualified individual who is seeking an opportunity to serve Tarrant County and learn from professionals in our Marketing and Communications department to perform duties of this position.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing, updating and managing new and existing print and digital materials such as print ads, invitations, signage, flyers, brochures, posters and other marketing material.
  • Designing and producing marketing communications materials by respective deadlines including annual reports and campaign fundraising materials.
  • Creating infographic illustrations, icons, exhibition designs, and interactive designs for internal and external print, web and digital use.
  • Turning messages into powerful imagery.
  • Partnering with other members of the Marketing & Communications department in the development and execution of various integrated marketing campaigns (broadcast, print, online, email, social media, etc.).
  • Fostering close working relationships within the team and other departments in the organization.
  • Translating graphical designs from Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat into functional, print-ready material for review, proofreading and production.
  • Shooting digital photography and video at company events, activities and functions for social media, campaigns and the website.
  • Additional projects as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (no sponsorship)
  • Ability to produce professional concepts, page layouts with correct integration of copy, photography, and illustrations
  • Technical expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite to include PowerPoint and Excel; vector graphic illustration skills and experience in producing infographics and integrating video and animations
  • Strong design and creative skills with the ability to generate new ideas and concepts
  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects efficiently
  • Ability to accept creative direction, constructive criticism and guidance, while offering alternative design solutions to solve problems
  • Be able to closely adhere to company brand guidelines and design/ font standards
  • Relevant portfolio required for consideration (print or online)

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor-level degree, preferably in digital arts or graphic design. Associate-level degree acceptable with 3-4 years of relevant experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

Work Schedule:

  • Normal work hours - Monday-Friday 7-4 PM, 8-5 PM or 9-6 PM
  • May require some evenings or weekends for special events
  • This position is in-person, 40 hours a week, in our Fort Worth office; a hybrid work schedule may be approved.

The work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a traditional office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Although remote work is permitted for this position, the individual must reside primarily in North Texas with the ability to work from the office or other required location daily if needed.
