About the Role:

As an Industrial Mechanical Technical Designer III, you will leverage advanced engineering techniques to design and evaluate integrated systems for industrial production processes. Your work will encompass human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. This role involves a high degree of autonomy and expert knowledge in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Engineering: Apply engineering techniques to design and evaluate integrated systems for industrial production. Utilize statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes and production standards. Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace using drafting tools and computer software to ensure maximum efficiency. Consider workflow, layout, and safety measures when designing industrial plants and facilities. Ensure designs meet organizational and production goals. Project Management:

Oversee document organization and clarity. Coordinate discipline drawing efforts. Develop design options to resolve system conflicts. Prepare proposals and project reports. Monitor individual performance relative to project budget and schedule. Ensure adherence to project budgets and schedules. Coordinate work with other disciplines. Travel up to 20% for project needs. Leadership and Mentoring:

Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinate groups. Act as a lead or first-level supervisor for the team. Work independently with minimal supervision and handle complex issues, referring only the most challenging problems to higher-level staff. Specialized Knowledge:

Perform various design services, including conceptual studies, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mass balance, calculations, equipment and instrument selection, and general arrangements for bulk material handling, process piping, conveyance equipment, dust collection, chute fabrication, tank/bin design, and equipment platforms/catwalks. Coordinate and communicate industrial and mechanical design aspects within multi-disciplinary teams. Develop project schematic designs, design development designs, and construction documents. Comply with quality control policies and procedures. Provide support services during the bidding process, including preparing addenda, attending pre-bid meetings, opening bids, and performing technical bid analysis. Perform construction phase services, such as representing the firm on-site, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing as-builts. Familiarity with MSHA standards and other industrial process design parameters is highly desired. Experience in Design/Build and EPC project delivery methods is desirable. Education and Technology:

Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program in a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM. Ability to effectively use company software for word processing, email, and information management. Working familiarity with design and production software for project document development.
