Position Summary

The Digital Communication Project Manager develops and executes effective strategies, plans, analysis, and recommendations in support of CPS Energy’s brand, program awareness, events, education, customer acquisition strategies, products & services, and initiatives through current and future digital and online channels; including social media platforms, website, intranet, and email. The role targets residential (including Spanish-speaking and income-eligible customers), small business, large commercial & industrial customers, media, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining knowledge of the industry, initiatives, target markets, products & services, programs, and tools addressing each target market. The manager will develop, execute, measure, assess and make recommendations on strategies and plans to enhance CPS Energy’s brand regionally and nationally, and collaborate with team members, internal clients, executives, agencies, consultants, and community organizations to meet goals related to digital channels, initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop digital marketing and communication strategies, plans, tactics, execution, and measurement for positioning CPS Energy’s services and value.
  • Manage brand messaging online and across current and future digital channels in support of CPS Energy’s brand, People First culture, and safety culture.
  • Create engaging content for digital channels and facilitate outreach and engagement; apply copy editing, digital media, and creative eye to deliver on-brand messaging.
  • Develop metrics to measure, analyze, and report on reach and effectiveness of digital channels, content, budget, and plans.
  • Monitor content and customer interactions on digital channels; inform improvements.
  • Develop and execute plans for digital platforms, materials, presentations and other deliverables to support customer service and business account management objectives.
  • Develop reporting and analyze data from digital and social media to measure effectiveness and influence future strategies; define new metrics to demonstrate success.
  • Assess processes, platforms and resources for opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop procurement and technical specifications for systems and services, including business case input.
  • Research and craft internet marketing and advertising strategies using organic and paid components to drive traffic and achieve goals.
  • Manage schedules for digital channel communications and updates; maintain content calendars for digital opportunities.
  • Publish branded content across platforms (e.g., AEM, Sprout Social) to support digital channel effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with communications and marketing teams to generate stories for all channels; cultivate relationships with employees, customers and community aligned with People First philosophy.
  • Attend CPS Energy events to capture photos, videos, and stories for timely digital publishing.
  • Stay up-to-date with digital and social media trends and contribute to evolving digital strategy to improve customer experiences.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, customer-service oriented approach.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills and Abilities

  • Must be willing to work outside of regular business hours.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record in accordance with CPSE policies and laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction within the organization and with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and work independently.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office; experience with web content management and analytics.
  • Considerable professional experience with digital channels.
  • Ability to create content (text, graphics, video) in a fast-paced digital space for desktop and mobile.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a collaborative environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to monitor project progress and report to stakeholders; present reports on progress and solutions.
  • Ability to implement and manage project changes and measure outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility industry experience or foundational knowledge.
  • Bi-lingual, English and Spanish.
  • Event marketing and promotional marketing experience.
  • Graphic design experience; proficiency with AEM and Wordpress.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and social media analytics; paid vs organic media.
  • Experience with digital platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, SmugMug, Pinterest, Podcasting, and emerging channels.
  • Proficiency with design apps (Creative Cloud).
  • Mobile photography and videography experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Digital Media or related field, or relevant work experience.

Environment and Physical Demands

  • Indoor work; sedentary at computer.
  • Ability to travel to meetings or events.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; negligible constant force.
