Responsibilities
- The Adjunct Instructor of Visual Communication is responsible for teaching courses in visual communications, including digital media production, graphic design and social media in the Department of Rhetoric & Communication Studies.
- The candidate will employ innovative modalities for delivering course content.
- The Adjunct Instructor of Visual Communication is expected to maintain current knowledge and skills related to the fields of visual communication to update and enrich the Department curriculum.
- The Adjunct Instructor of Visual Communication will represent the University and the Department of Rhetoric & Communication Studies in a professional manner with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders.
- Teaching assignments are available each semester on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications
- Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts degree in visual arts, media arts, communication or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of related research and work experience required; portfolio of efforts as a working professional and/or practicing artist requested.
- Expertise in applicable, industry-standard computer software and digital design tools.
- Preferred collegiate teaching experience.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills required for working with diverse groups.
- Excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Commitment to the role of communications in a liberal arts setting.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
