Within KCSA, the financial services PR team specializes in working with companies at all stages who want to rise above the industry buzz and position themselves and their leaders as experts in their space. This team works across earned media with emphasis on broadcast opportunities.

We’re looking for a Public Relations Account Director who’s passionate about the daily financial news cycle and building trusted relationships with clients, colleagues and media. If you constantly have the news playing in the background of your day, check headlines as you brush your teeth, and are a seasoned leader of client PR programs, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

As an Account Director on our financial services team, you’ll:

• Lead or co-lead 6-8 client accounts, serving as the primary client partner, guiding strategy and overseeing timelines/deliverables.
• Develop and execute impactful PR campaigns tailored to clients’ business goals.
• Write clear, compelling content, including press releases, media pitches, messaging documents, bylined articles and more (with minimal edits from management).
• Secure consistent media coverage for clients by leveraging existing relationships with top-tier mainstream media, industry trade publications and broadcast outlets.
• Develop conference and awards strategies that elevate client visibility and leadership.
• Train clients ahead of interviews and broadcast segments.
• Mentor and grow junior team members, nurturing the next generation of communications professionals.

Who you are

• You bring 5-8 years of PR experience in the finance space, preferably in an agency setting.
• You have a solid foundation of financial literacy and understand the nuances of capital markets news and beyond.
• You’re a confident communicator and relationship-builder with clients and media.
• You thrive in collaborative environments, both leading and supporting as needed.
• You have a proven track record of placing stories in mainstream and trade media, and broadcasting outlets.
• You enjoy mentoring and developing junior talent.
• You’re detail-oriented, proactive and able to juggle multiple priorities.
• You are a strategic thinker who can provide calm and focus to a team even under pressure.
