Overview

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students with online Writing tutors nationwide. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make an impact on students’ learning journeys—from home.

Base pay range
$18.00/hr - $40.00/hr

Pay is described in the job post and is dependent on contract rates, subject specialization, and session persistence with the same student. You’ll be paid for tutoring sessions you conduct, with payments processed on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
• Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
• Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
• Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time and focus on teaching.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments.

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.
